Gorleston Safer Neighbourhood Team held its latest Key Individual Network (KIN) meeting on Wednesday night. The meeting consists of a group of people drawn from various parts of the community in Gorleston. This group decides which neighbourhood issues the Gorleston Safer Neighbourhood Team will concentrate on for the following 6 - 8 weeks. To assist the group the team video taped a number of shoppers in the High Street on Tuesday to ascertain what they believed the police should concentrate on to make the area a safer and more pleasant location, this was used in conjunction with issues, which had been gathered from the community by means of various police surgeries and community meetings. The meeting concluded that the Gorleston Team should concentrate of dealing with illegal and inconsiderate parking in Gorleston High Street, anti social behaviour in Trafalgar Road West and dealing with youths causing damage around Bells Marsh Road area. Inspector Paul McCarthy the Police Inspector for the team commented "these are the issues my team will concentrate on alongside the everyday calls, they are what the community feels matters most to them and the issues they want police to take action on. To assist us in tackling the issues I urge parents to know where their children are and to ensure that they are not causing problems to other residents and for those using the High Street to abide by the parking regulations or expect to receive a fixed penalty ticket.
